mdiamondMark Diamond is the President and CEO, Contoural, Inc. He is one of the industry thought leaders in email archiving, litigation readiness, compliance, data protection and ILM strategies and practices. As CEO of Contoural, his company helps numerous Fortune 500 companies develop and execute email and document retention policies. A frequent industry speaker, Mr. Diamond addresses how organizations can better align business requirements with IT and storage spending. An expert in the business drivers around archival and the technical strategies for implementing them, he addresses what are the emerging best practices, and outlines practical approaches for email and electronic document archival that reduce liability, lower costs and ensure compliance.

Mark is founder, President & CEO of Contoural, Inc., a provider of business and technology consulting services. Under his leadership, Contoural has grown to be the industry leader in developing business and technology strategies for data retention policies and information archiving. Providing innovative approaches, these strategies help simplify complex issues, ensure compliance, reduce risks and lower costs.

One of the pioneers in the strategic storage services industry, Mark has successfully built and grown consulting, education and support organizations from inception to large, worldwide organizations numerous times. Previously, Mark was co-founder of Symantec's (OpenVision) Professional Services group. Additionally, Mark was founder and General Manager, Worldwide Professional Services for Legato Systems, a supplier of storage software. Mark grew Legato's worldwide services business into the industry leader.

Mark was founder and Principal of Smith, Diamond and Associates, a management consulting firm. Additionally he was Vice President of Worldwide Professional Services at RightWorks, a provider of business application software to the B2B marketplace. Mark has also held positions in direct and OEM sales, strategic marketing and product development. He recently served as Chair of the Storage Networking Industry Association customer advisory board on data security. Further, Mark sits on board of advisors for high technology companies.

Mark is a frequent industry speaker, addressing storage, backup, data classification on the best practices for managing storage.

He has a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from the University of California San Diego. Mark is former President of the UC San Diego Alumni Association, and a Trustee of the university's foundation.
